Happy belated 4th of July! This is my first post and I am typing it up before I wander off to my next 4th of July cookout.
Yesterday was a great day! Trevor (my brother) and I went to a cookout with my bestfriend, Katie, at her grandmother's house. We first started off the trip by making a pit stop at Party City to pick up some patriotic attire!
We finally arrived at the cookout and everybody loved our big sunglasses, visors and of course Trevor's blue mustache! We ate some delicious food! Then it was time for the annual cornhole tournament. Katie and I were on a team and Trevor and Ryan were on a team. When it was time for us to play each other the competition was intense. Sadly, I choked at the very end and we lost 1 point.
Our loss sent Katie & I into the losers bracket where we played Tracey & Dana. We were losing miserably but somehow we made a comeback. We were still behind. Tracey and Dana only needed 1 more point.
SOMEHOW I scored 7 points for the win!! That was a very exciting moment for team Katie & Brittany!! We ended up losing our next game against Grandma JoJo and Papa Richard. We still had a great time! Trevor & Ryan ended up winning the whole cornhole competition. They each got $5 and some lottery tickets.
To end this amazing day, we went to my Aunt Linda & Uncle Kenny's house. I absolutely LOVE sitting on their pier to watch the amazing sunset. It is so beautiful!
Around 9 it was finally dark enough for fireworks and Linda wasn't going to let us wait one more minute. She was ready and didn't give a %#%@ if anyone else was. I was really excited to take pictures with my camera but sadly I didn't do enough research to find out what settings worked best for fireworks on my camera. All of my pictures were blurry.
This is probably one of the better pictures I took of the fireworks. I was having a rough time. This was the very first firework and it was a little close to Kenny and my dad.. they had to fix it so they didn't explode the next time haha. I just like the red, white, and blue in the picture.. although it's blurry I think it represents the 4th of July very well.
Well, now it's time to go to my next cookout. Fishing, paddle boating, swimming, tanning, volleyball and eating all day. Doesn't get much better then that! Have a great Friday everyone!
